Kayaking in Maine's Rangeley Lakes Region

Bring your own canoe or kayak or rent from one of the local sports
shops and paddle the area's scenic rivers like the Kennebago, Cupsuptic, Magalloway, and North Branch of the Dead River; tour the ponds to view the common loon and mergansers or cranes and herons; or explore the coves and islands of one or more of the seven lakes in the Rangeley chain (Rangeley Lake, Mooselookmeguntic Lake, Cupsuptic Lake, Upper
& Lower Richardson Lakes, Kennebago Lake, and Umbagog Lake), or Flagstaff Lake, Maine's fourth largest lake, located nearby in the Stratton
- Eustis area. All local waters offer excellent paddling for both beginners and experts alike. Trips vary in length from short day excursions to three to five day journeys. For information about whitewater rafing click here!

A number of Rangeley businesses rent canoes and kayaks with some also providing a shuttle service. Tours by Registered Maine Guides are also available. Click on the links below for more info. about each trip.
