![]() ANGEL FALLS: An exceptionally scenic "hanging"
falls with the longest single drop (90 feet) in Maine. Located 17.6
miles south of the village of Oquossoc. Go west on Route 17, cross
bridge, then go right onto the old railroad line (Bemis Track).
From here the trailhead is 11.9 miles on the right. Turn right at
the sign, and follow the gravel road past a small pit. Follow the
red-blazed marked trail, approximately 1 mile from this point. The
trail crosses streams five times, which can become obscure and dangerous
at times of high water, so please check for current conditions. HATCHERY BROOK TRAIL: Located .1 mile on Manor Road off Route 4, just west of the village of Rangeley. This trail is an easy, one mile loop with three scenic, lakeside picnic sites. MOUNTAIN POND TRAIL: A 1.5 mile trail (red blazed) through wooded hillsides and forest, that leads you to the edge of the pond. Enter from South Shore Drive, a half mile west of the Rangeley Lake State Park entrance. OR Enter from Edelheid Road at Utility Pole #13. SPENCER POND: Follow Rt. 17, 12.7 miles south of Oquossoc (9.1 miles from State Park Rd.). Trail is on the left. Park and walk about 1 mile up the old dirt road trail to pond.
